This regulation applies to the Baneasa Forest Run competition, a competition organized by Running Media Consulting SRL and the Alergam de Placere Association, which aims to promote outdoor running.

By participating in this Event, participants agree to respect and comply with all provisions, terms and conditions of these Official Regulations and applicable legislation in force. Participants must also sign the declaration on their own responsibility, made available by the Organizers upon collection of the participation kit.

1. Event characteristics

Baneasa Forest Run is an amateur running event that takes place on the trails of the Baneasa and Tunari forests in northern Bucharest. The event has 4 events: sprint - 6 kilometers, cross - 11 kilometers, half marathon 21 kilometers, competitive events, and family run 3 kilometers, non-competitive event. The minimum age for registration for the sprint is 10 years old, for the cross is 14 years old, and for the half marathon is 18 years old. There is no age limit for the Family Run event.

The FAMILY RUN 3 KM race is a popular, non-competitive tour, perfect for those who want to exercise in nature over an accessible distance. It is also an opportunity to spend time with the family. To participate in the Family Run race, each child must register individually. Each child registered for this race will benefit from a complete participation kit. Children must be accompanied on the route by an adult registered for one of the four races of the event.

For the 6K Sprint event, minors must be accompanied by a parent or a person delegated by the parents without the need to register the companion, specifying that he or she will not benefit from the advantages of registration (competition number, participation kit, medal or other benefits included in the registration fee).

The event route will be marked with tape and will have volunteers from the organizers at certain points, who will indicate the running direction. Please follow exclusively the official markings and the instructions of the volunteers on the route.

This event is aimed at anyone passionate about running and/or an active lifestyle.

2. Participation fee

 

  • The participation fee for the cross-country and half marathon is 195 lei.

  • Live ranking with 4 age categories for each race for each gender.

The participation fee for the Family Run is 100 lei for adults and 50 lei for children. To participate in the Family Run, each child must register individually. Each child registered for this race will receive a complete participation kit. Children registered for the 3K Family Run must be accompanied on the route by an adult registered for any of the races. If the adult is already registered for one of the 11K Cross or 21K Half Marathon races, it is no longer mandatory to register for the Family Run race, but in this case the accompanying adult cannot receive the 3K Family Run race kit including the finisher medal, but only the race kit for which he is registered.

IMPORTANT: T-shirt sizes are NOT guaranteed, although we will try to ensure that most participants have the size requested during the registration process. Size changes cannot be made when picking up the participation kit, but only at the end of the event.

3. Registration
  • To register, each participant must complete the online registration form on the official website, baneasaforestrun.ro, "Register" section according to the instructions on that page.
  • Each participant signs a declaration upon registration stating that they are fit to run, understand and acknowledge the risks of injury that may occur on the route and fully assume them and will exempt the organizers and sponsors of the event from any liability in the event that they suffer any kind of injury, accident or death.
  • Payment of the participation fee can be made according to the instructions in the email received after registration.
  • Payment will only be made by card at the time of registration. Otherwise, the registration will be canceled.
  • In case of failure to pay the contribution within this period, the registration process must be resumed with the application of the conditions from the resumption of registration.
  • There are no on-site registrations or validations. Cash registrations are not accepted.
  • In case of withdrawal from the competition more than 20 days before the start, the participation fee will be refunded in the amount of 80% of the amount paid.
  • In case of withdrawal from the competition less than 20 days before the start, due to the immediate costs borne by the organizer for each individual registration and the provisions of GEO no. 34/2014, registration fees are not refundable, cannot be changed and are not transferable.
  • Places are transferable to another person or participants can move from one race to another up to 20 days before the start, free of charge. No changes can be made to the start list less than 20 days before the start.
4. Awards and Ranking
    • Each sprint, cross-country and half marathon race will have its own ranking that will contain each runner's time and overall place as well as their category place. The categories are as follows: Female 10-18, Female 19-29, Female 30-39, Female 40-49, Female 50+, Male< wpml_nbsp >10-18, Male 19-29, Male 30-39, Male 40-49, Male 50+ for the sprint event, Female 14-29, Female 30-39, Female 40-49, Female 50+, Male 14-29, Male 30-39, Male 40-49, Male 50+ for the cross-country event and Female 18-29, Female 30-39, Female 40-49, Female 50+, Male 18-29, Male 30-39, Male 30-39, Male 40-49, Male 50+ for the half marathon event.
    • Prizes consisting of Kaufland vouchers will be awarded to the first 5 winners in the OPEN Women's and OPEN Men's races,  for the 6 km sprint,  11 km cross country and 21 km half marathon. For the age categories, we will offer a personalized medal and a printed diploma for the first three places in women's and men's races for each age category. In the case of the SPRINT event, age categories are NOT awarded.
    • The OPEN winners are also included in the category rankings.
    • The vouchers will be handed over exclusively at the award ceremony, directly to the winners or their representatives. It is necessary to sign a form requesting the winner's personal data in order to receive the prize. If the winner or representative is not present at the award ceremony and does not sign the form, the prize will be considered forfeited.
    • The total value of the prizes is 16,800 LEI.
    • Competitors belonging to the legal professions Magistrates (prosecutors, judges) ranked on the podium will be awarded only with a diploma and a cup or medal, regardless of whether the respective place also has prizes. They will have to announce this at the awards ceremony, before the prizes are handed out.

The Family Run event is non-competitive.

  • The recommended equipment must be adapted depending on the weather conditions at the time of the start.
5. Contest number

The race number is mandatory. It must be worn in front and visible throughout the race. Failure to comply with this rule may lead to the participant's disqualification.

7. Timing

Timing will be done to the second using disposable electronic chips located on the back of the competition number. The time based on which the ranking will be drawn up will be the raw time, that is, the time between the start and the finish line.

To the extent possible, we will also provide the runners with the net time, i.e. the time between crossing the start line and crossing the finish line, but this time will not be taken into account when compiling the ranking. If 2 competitors run the route at the same time, one will receive place x, and the other place x+1.

8. Pick up the participation kit

The collection of the competition kit will be based on the RACE PASS email (QR code) and the declaration of self-responsibility electronically signed by the participant. The declaration will be sent to each participant to be electronically signed during the week of the event.

The kits will be delivered exclusively on the day and time announced on the event website in the "Contest Kit" section. If the participant cannot pick up the kit, the declaration must be signed by the participant and by a delegated person who can pick up and deliver the kit. The kits cannot be picked up after the event and there is no possibility of sending them by courier.

In the case of the Family Run event, a member can pick up the participation kits for the entire family provided they have signed declarations for each of the participants, whether adults or minors, and a copy of their identity documents (ID/Birth Certificate).

9. Competition route

Start location: the shoulder parallel to Nightingales Alley, near the Police Academy, in the Baneasa forest (northern area of ​​Bucharest), as follows:

  •  Half marathon - 21 km: start time 9.15 AM | time limit: 3h00'
  • Cross country - 11 km: start time: 12:25 PM WAVE 1 and 12:30 PM WAVE 2 | time limit 1h45'
  • Sprint - 6 km: start time: 12:50 PM | time limit 1h25'
  • Family Run- 3 km: start time 14.30 AM | time limit: 1h00'

Access can be done by personal car or by bus 301 (from Piața Romana or Piata Charles de Gaulle) to the "Restaurant Baneasa" stop, a stop located 500 m  from the event area, heading towards the city. If the direction of arrival is from Pipera or when departing from the event towards the city, the closest stop is "Academia de Politie", a stop located 300 m from the event area.

The running route will be marked by the organizer with marking tape and will be supervised by race referees, located at various points along the route.

The running surface is 80% - 90% dirt and may have bumps, tree roots or be covered with leaf litter. Depending on precipitation and temperatures, certain sections may be covered with mud. Runners are required to wear appropriate equipment for the season and the running surface (trail). Hydration and food stations will be located in the start/finish area and on the route at kilometer 3.5 (water and isotonic), kilometer 5 (drinks and food), kilometer 9 (water and isotonic) and finish for the cross-country race, respectively start/finish, kilometer 3.5/13.5 (water and isotonic),  kilometer 5/15 (drinks and food), 9/19 (water and isotonic) and finish for the half marathon race. The checkpoints will be located at each major change of direction and aim to observe the passage of competitors by race number, as well as to optimize the orientation of the runners. The hydration and food stations for the Family Run event will be located at the start/finish.
It is prohibited under any circumstances to throw debris, packaging, glasses or any other materials on the route, as a sign of respect for the environment.

If any participant is unable or unwilling to continue the race for any reason, they must immediately inform the organizers either at the checkpoints or by calling the phone number on the competition number. 
The organizer also reserves the right to stop a participant if he or she is injured, and continuing the race may worsen the situation for him or those around him.

In case of adverse weather conditions and/or other special conditions, the organizer reserves the right to stop the race or to modify the time barrier and/or the route. Route modifications will be announced in advance. The organizer reserves the right to cancel/postpone the race in exceptional cases provided that all participants are notified in advance. In case of force majeure, by this we mean any events that could influence the smooth running of the event such as: major floods, natural disasters or major political events that cause the organizers to cancel the competition, the participation fee will not be refunded, another date will be set for the competition.

10. Compliance with safety rules

Running through the forest requires several safety precautions, and following them helps avoid unpleasant events.

The route is winding, please be careful of bumps, branches, stumps and in general the elements specific to a rough terrain. Be cautious and do not hesitate to call the first aid teams or call the emergency numbers printed on the competition number, if you feel unwell. Also, if you notice an incident or another participant who needs help, please report this to one of the emergency numbers printed on the competition number and also notify the nearest volunteer (whether in the running direction or the opposite). Notifying the volunteer is very important because it helps to identify the point on the route where the incident occurs and where the intervention team needs to arrive.

Always follow the official race markings. Keep in mind that in the forest you may encounter wild animals, try to avoid any contact with them. We recommend that you have your mobile phone with you throughout the run.  

The organizer assumes no responsibility for material losses or damages, exposure to extreme circumstances: illness, contact/collision with other participants, spectators, volunteers, unfavorable weather conditions, injuries caused by the conditions of running in the forest: wasp stings, interaction with wild animals (wild boars, deer, dogs, etc.), disability, serious bodily injury or even death.

11. Copyright

By registering for the competition, all participants automatically authorize the organizers, including race partners, to use and reproduce any material containing statements or images of the participants running or not. The materials and photos will be used to promote the event.

12. Final grades and penalties

Photos from the event are available to participants for two months from the event date.

Participants are required to read and follow the instructions presented in the "Race Day" section of the event website www.baneasaforestrun.ro before the event day and also to listen to and follow the instructions of the organizers at the event venue.

By participating in this competition, participants agree to respect and comply with all provisions, terms and conditions of these Regulations.

The Regulation is drawn up and made public in accordance with Romanian law, being available on the website www.baneasaforestrun.ro. The Organizers reserve the right to modify or change these Official Regulations, such modifications will enter into force only after publishing a prior announcement presenting these modifications on the website www.baneasaforestrun.ro.

These violations lead to disqualification:

 

  • The participant will be disqualified if the competition number is not attached to the T-shirt / blouse on the front.
  • Any runner wearing a different race number than the one received from the organizer will be automatically disqualified.
  • Changing or replacing the number (including in case of loss) is not allowed on race day, nor is changing the competition numbers between runners.
  • Missing a checkpoint.
  • Failure to comply with competition rules.
  • Unsportsmanlike behavior towards other participants, officials, the public or other persons.
  • Throwing debris, packaging, glasses or other objects/things in the forest.
  • Attending the event with pets that may obstruct participants on the running route or cause incidents in the event area.

 

The organizers also undertake to comply with the provisions of Law no. 677/2001 on the protection of personal data. Therefore, the organizers undertake to maintain the confidentiality of the personal data of the participants and winners of this competition and to use them in accordance with these Regulations and the legislation in force. The organizers are not responsible for any unauthorized disclosure of personal and confidential information caused by cyber attacks or data theft.

By registering for the Baneasa Forest Run, participants agree to receive messages from the organizer about its activity, about other events organized by it or in which it is a partner.
