RACE NUMBER
Please keep your race number without bending/damaging it! On the back of it is the timing chip needed to record your running time. It is also important to have your number on the front so that the volunteers on the route can recognize you as a runner during the event. The race number is also needed after the race to benefit from the following:
- access to the fuel/hydration point at the start/finish
- Barilla pasta, Eisberg salad and Muller product will also be personally handed over to participants based on the contest number with a note on the number of product pickup.
YOUR PHOTO ALBUM
We take over 15,000 photos each year with the help of a large team of photographers. In order to generate individual albums with photos of each runner, we use facial recognition. Here are the steps you need to take to get to your photos.
- After taking photos at the event, in approximately 2-3 days, each runner will receive by email, in the digital kit, a personalized link to create their own album.
- To access this link you will need to create an account on the getpica.com platform or register using an existing account. Once you have created an account, you can use it to have all the albums from all the events that use this platform in one place.
- Once registered on the platform, upon accessing the link you will be asked to take a selfie/self-portrait so that the album can be generated with your own photos. This self-portrait should be taken with the best possible camera, in the best possible light, in conditions similar to those of the race (for example: if you had a cap during the event or glasses, it is helpful to take the self-portrait with the cap or glasses in question).
- After taking the self-portrait, the album will be generated with your own photos, and the photos can be accessed, viewed, downloaded, shared or deleted together or individually. For these options, access the menu by pressing the 3 dots.
- If you know you should have had more photos, you can try taking the self-portrait again. To do this, you must delete the album, which will also delete the self-portrait. Then follow the steps to generate the album again by accessing the link you received.
The getpica.com platform stores data within the European Union and is subject to the GDPR regulation. Within the platform there are 3 possible options if you wish to exercise certain withdrawal rights:
- Anonymizing your appearance in the photos of other participants, in which case you will appear with an effect (blur) that will make it impossible to recognize you in the photos of other participants. This option is applied from the album options (click on the 3 dots to the right of the album name) by activating "Anonymouse mode".
- Deleting the album, which automatically involves deleting the biometric data, namely the selfie taken to generate the respective album. This option is applied from the album options (click on the 3 dots to the right of the album name) by clicking the "Remove album" button
- Closing the account created on the getpica.com platform by clicking the "Delete account" button on the account page.
START AREA
There will be several signs in the start area to help you find your way around. Here's what you can find in the start/finish area:
INFO POINT: answers any questions you have about the race.
LOCKER ROOM: located next to the INFO POINT in the event area. Since space is limited, we recommend runners to be understanding in case it gets crowded and to find alternatives for storing clothes/equipment (personal car).
FAMILY AREA: an area dedicated to the little ones, with animators, activities for the little ones, balloons, painting on plaster statuettes.
STREET FOOD AREA: from here you will be able to buy products for yourself or your companions from various street food trucks. The dining area will also be located here.
PARTNERS AREA: where you will be able to dialogue and interact with the partners present at the event.
BICYCLE PARKING: will be arranged in the locker room area and will be limited to approximately 20 bicycles. To park your bicycle, you must have an anti-theft system.
EATING POINT: will be open both before the start and after the finish.
CHANGING ROOMS: are divided by gender and are located next to the TOILETRIES. Since space is limited, we recommend that runners be understanding if it gets crowded.
TOILETS: 20 ecological toilets and 4 hand washing sinks.
START
-
- Each participant will receive a race number corresponding to the event on which the starting sector will be passed and the time at which they start running.
SEMIMARATHON: Green numbers, start time: 09:15
CROSS: Purple numbers, start time wave 1: 12:25, start time wave 2: 12:30
SPRINT: Orange numbers, start time: 12:50
FAMILY RUN: Red numbers, start time 14:30 - Access to the start will be done in waves and time sectors in the case of the CROS race and in time sectors in the case of the SEMIMARATHON event. Each runner has the wave and start sector corresponding to the time declared upon registration marked on their race number. By dividing the race into waves and start sectors, the run will be more enjoyable for each runner, thus avoiding crowding and minimizing the number of overtaking.
- There are 4 time sectors depending on the running pace of each participant. The division is also valid for the cross-country race, for the two starting waves in which they start. For a better evaluation, you must take into account your current form and the time with which you run 10 km on ASPHALT. Therefore, the starting sectors are: 1 BLACK – 2 RED – 3 BLUE – 4 GREEN. The starting sectors are signaled by flags corresponding to each sector. The entry into the sector is made right next to the flag.
- For reference, we present below the division into sectors according to the times declared at registration. For those who registered before the competition numbers were produced, you will find on the number the wave and the allocated starting sector in the case of the cross-country race or only the allocated starting sector in the case of the half-marathon race. For the rest of the participants, the wave/sector UNALLOCATED will appear on the number. Please do not change the sector for differences of a few seconds. However, if the time declared at registration was wrong, your current form is better or worse or you have an UNALLOCATED sector, please evaluate yourself taking into account the times below and choose where you will start. It is important for a more enjoyable experience (not having too much to overtake and not being overtaken by too many) that this evaluation is done correctly according to these times.
- Each participant will receive a race number corresponding to the event on which the starting sector will be passed and the time at which they start running.
- The FAMILY RUN 3K race is non-competitive, but for a pleasant running experience, please position yourself in the starting sectors according to your running pace. The fastest ones in front, sectors 1 and 2, and those who want to enjoy the route and the atmosphere more, in the back, sectors 3 and 4. The start of the FAMILY RUN race will be given in 4 successive waves at 30-60 seconds distance for each sector.
ROUTE
- Start/finish: in the event area at the Baneasa Police Academy.
- Race distance: SEMI-MARATHON 21 KM | CROSS 11 KM | SPRINT 6 KM | FAMILY RUN 3 KM
- Marking: please carefully follow the official race marking: yellow plastic band with Kaufland Baneasa Forest Run and Puma logos.
- Other markings (stripes of other colors, arrows on trees or other types of markings) do not belong to us and do not necessarily indicate the correct direction. If you do not see any markings for more than 100-150 meters, you are definitely off the running route, and the best solution is to get back on the route by going back through the same place until you find the marking and continue running from there on the marked route in the correct running direction.
- For more details about the route, please consult the route maps which are accompanied by more information: Cross - 11 KM, Half Marathon - 21 KM, Sprint - 6 KM and Family Run - 3 KM
- ATTENTION! In order not to get lost in the forest and/or not to be disqualified, please follow the instructions of the volunteers and carefully follow the markings and not the path.
- SPRINT: 1h25'

- After each feeding/hydration point, there will be a marked trash can where debris must be thrown to keep the forest as clean as possible.
WASTE COLLECTION
At this edition, in collaboration with FEPRA, we want to recycle as much of what remains after an event as possible. Thus, in addition to packaging and other recyclable materials related to the organization of the event and which are under our control, here is how you, as a participant, can help with the recycling process.
RECOVERED
On site and in the participation kit, there are the following types of packaging that can be recycled in dedicated containers and marked as such:
Returo:
- 0.5 liter, 1 liter and 2 liter water bottles
- Beer cans
Please note that the water bottle and the beer can are packaging that can be recycled in the RETURO system. Thus, it is your choice whether to take the packaging with you to recycle it at one of the recycling points in the RETURO system or to throw it in the dedicated containers on site. The containers must be emptied of their contents, not crushed, and closed with the lid.
Recyclable:
- Muller Protein Milk Containers
- Cardboard, paper - uncontaminated.
Important! All containers must be emptied of their contents, flattened, closed with a lid (where applicable) and then discarded.
HOUSEHOLD
The rest of the packaging, unfortunately, due to contamination or the materials they are made of, cannot be recycled and will be thrown into the containers marked for DOMESTIC garbage:
- Pasta boxes
- Salad boxes
- Cardboard cups
- Food scraps or other contaminated materials
Start/finish area Route
RUNNING SURFACE
The running surface is approximately 80% dirt and may have bumps, tree roots, or be covered with a bed of leaves.
Depending on rainfall and temperatures, some sections may be covered with mud. Runners are required to wear appropriate equipment for the season and the running surface (trail).
RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT
- Running shirt
- Running pants
- Hydration bag/belt
- Phone
- Waterproof trail running shoes with grippy soles
- Depending on the weather conditions, the recommended equipment includes: a windproof and waterproof jacket.
SAFETY
- Running through the forest involves several safety provisions, and respecting them helps to avoid unpleasant events. The route is winding, please be careful of bumps, branches, stumps and in general the elements specific to a rough terrain. Be cautious and do not hesitate to call the first aid teams or call the emergency numbers printed on the competition number, if you feel unwell. Also, if you notice an incident or another participant who needs help, please report this to one of the emergency numbers printed on the competition number and also notify the nearest volunteer (whether in the running direction or the opposite). Notifying the volunteer is very important because it helps to identify the point on the route where the incident occurs and where the intervention team should arrive.
- Always follow the official race markings. Keep in mind that in the forest you may encounter wild animals, try to avoid any contact with them. We recommend that you have your mobile phone with you throughout the run.
- The organizer assumes no responsibility for material losses or damages, exposure to extreme circumstances: illness, contact/collision with other participants, spectators, volunteers, adverse weather conditions, injuries caused by the conditions of running in the forest: wasp stings, interaction with wild animals (wild boars, deer, dogs, etc.), disability, serious bodily injury or even death. If possible, stay close to other runners.
- Keep in mind that due to the rough terrain and narrow paths, car intervention is difficult, and in some places impossible.
- It is important to inform yourself about the characteristics of the route and the positioning of the hydration and feeding points, as well as the first aid points, so that you can best manage your effort and resources and enjoy the race as much as possible. Make sure you have the right equipment for the weather and temperature during the event.
- It is strictly forbidden to listen to music on headphones or block out the sound of the environment while running!
PARKING
-
- To the extent possible, we recommend that runners come by public transportation or in groups, rather than each in their own car.
- For those who choose to come by public transportation, bus 301 stops at the "Restaurant Baneasa" stop, located 500 m from the event area, heading towards the city. If you are coming from Pipera or leaving the event towards the city, the closest stop is "Academia de Politie", located 300 m from the event area.
- If you arrive by bike at the start-finish area, we have prepared a bicycle parking area for you in the locker room area. Please note that we cannot accommodate more than 20 bicycles. To park your bicycle, you must have an anti-theft system.
- The most suitable place for parking near the event area is on the alleys around Baneasa Park, located 500 meters from the start area (see map). On the alleys around Baneasa Park, parking will be on the sides, as close to the edge as possible, so that there is room for other cars to enter and exit.
- Also, nearby shopping centers have sufficiently large parking lots, but please take into account their parking regulations when parking.
- Access from the alleys of Baneasa Park to the event area can be made via the alley in the forest, parallel to the Nightingales' Alley (see map).
- If you arrive early, it is possible to find a place on the alley at the Police Academy, in the extension of the event area, but these places are few and fill up quickly. ATTENTION! Please do not block access to the institutions on Aleea Privighetorilor, the Romanian Gendarmerie, or the Police Academy, or occupy the places reserved for them.
- Also, please do not park in the green spaces or on the sidewalks, on Aleea Privighetorilor, on Bd. Alexandru Nasta (even though it is called a boulevard, it is actually a street with only one lane in each direction where buses also pass). Blocking a lane, in addition to being illegal, will block road traffic in the area. Moreover, at the edition of April 10, 2022, following some notifications, the Local Police of Sector 1 applied fines for parking both in the green space and on the sidewalks in the area of Aleea Privighetorilor and Bd. Alexandru Nasta.
- For clarification of the above, please consult the map of parking areas and access to the event area below.
